I have recently decided to buy a new hard disk. I have been looking for some good, but as I do not have too much money currently, I was wondering if I could add my old Quantum disk to my existing Western Digital. It is does not have capacity too high, but it will do for some shorter period of time. If anyone could give me any suggestions, that would be great.

Combining hard disks is always a risky job. Moreover, if you combine wrong types of hard disks, your computer can become quite unstable. It seems to me that the types of disks you want to combine are not too compatible, especially since one is of the old type and the other one is new. Also, Quantum and WD are really not good to combine in terms of their specifics as brands. That said, it is probably better just to wait some more time until the prices fall or until you have more time to buy another Western Digital hard disk, as this will be the best solution for your dilemma.
