I tried changing a malfunctioning video card on my sister's old PC with an equally old GeForce2 MX/MX 400, and it kind of, sort of, worked… except now the system locks up every half an hour or so, sometimes longer. I don't think it's overheating, because the lockup happens even if there's no activity, just the desktop screensaver is on. Any advice?

What drivers do you have installed? I remember back when I had a GF2, the ones that came with Windows 2000 were utter crap. I suggest checking out nvidia.com's driver database, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, that card has crappy support, and is in and of itself, utter crap.
