Hello. I have started Disk Cleanup to see if I can free some disk space. Disk Cleanup offered me to remove Office Setup Files and told me that I will gain approximately 230 MB if I do this. I am not sure what Office setup Files are used for and if it is safe to remove them. Can you tell me what to do?

Office Setup Files are used for updating Office either from CD or internet. It is safe to remove them but you will have some trouble if you ever update Office after this. Also, you will not gain that much space if you delete them. Second, do not use Disk Cleanup. There are some a lot better tools for junk cleaning from your hard drive like CCleaner.
