I have old computer with Windows 98 installed. The problem is with my key board that started to behave strangely. I can not force it to keep numlock turned off while booting. I know that this is not a big problem but I find it very annoying and I hope you will be able to give me some help regarding it. Thank you in advance.

This problem with numlock can happen, especially if you are using old Microsoft Intellipoint driver installed. Fortunately, this problem is easy to solve on Windows 98 computers. You have to edit CONFIG.SYS file ( this can be done with any text editor) and add NUMLOCK = OFF in the new line. If you want to switch back to default behavior than delete this line and add NUMLOCK = ON instead.
