Norton virus scanning not working

I have some issues with Norton Internet Security Suite 2007. I am not able do make a full system scan for viruses. After some time virus scanner hangs and I have to close it and try again. It hangs on different files and I can not see any pattern here. Do you know what has happened with this virus scanner?

This is issue that several people have reported, also. It seems that there is no definite solution and Symantec is not making any statement regarding this problem. Most problems come from scanning archived files (ZIP, RAR etc) so if you disable scanning of these file types you will be able to perform a scan. It is not big problem because viruses can not do anything in archive and when you try to extract them anti virus will recognize and delete them.
