| I've been having some networking issues, some machines not getting access as they were supposed to, and I was told that it might be due to firewall incompatibility issues. I was to turn off the Norton firewall, and everything would be OK, because it wouldn't fight with the XP one. Strangely enough, it turned out to be true. I'm a little worried, though, not using Norton or any other firewall that I know. And isn't the XP firewall turned off by default? (I don't know where to check.) |

| The Win XP firewall is indeed set to "off" at first start, but not if you have Service Pack 2 installed it switches it on, as it was supposed to be in the first place. If you have Norton, go to your connection Properties (right-click), the Advanced tab, where you can turn off the XP firewall. |
