I need some help with my sound card audio settings. I downloaded the audio driver update from the Internet. I have Windows XP as operating system for a long period and everything worked fine until yesterday. However, when I try to open downloaded file and install it I get an error message. Now I have now sound on Logitech rear right speaker. Is it faulty or I have DirectSound driver issue?

There is couple of reasons that could cause problem like yours. I think that everything is OK with your Logitech speaker. First, it could be an error in the process of downloading and your driver file might be damaged. You might try to download it once more and than try to reopen it again. You might not have a proper version of operating system installed on your machine. Your version of driver could be for some other Windows like Windows Millennium. In that case, you have to find and download a proper version for your Windows XP. Third reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some other add-ons. If that is your problem, you need to download and install them first.
