No network connection after installing Windows XP

I have (well, I had) a DSL connection via a Speed Touch gateway connecting two local computers, both running Windows XP. After I had to reinstall XP on one of them (the first time I reinstalled since the connection was set up), I can no longer gain access to the internet on either of the two computers. I have no idea what went wrong, because XP is using the exact same setup as before. Any thoughts?

Well, the usual suspects would be the drivers, wouldn't they? You should check to see what drivers XP chose to install this time for your router there's no guarantee that it installed the same ones as before, or even that it identified the same hardware as before, that's Windows for you. Ditto for NIC drivers, I guess.
