New WD HDD doesn't work

So, basically, it works, but I can’t boot a system from it. I’ve bought new WD 320GB SATA HDD, and I’ve cloned my old 80 GB Maxtor Diamond to it (done this lots of times). However, I can’t boot from it, I get a message (no system, please insert disk). I checked the HDD, the data on it isn’t corrupted.

Not sure about SATA drives, maybe someone else should respond, but I know that this problem can be caused if you didn’t setup an active partition. You should boot from a start-up diskette, or start-up cd. Then select FDISK, or some partition manager, and set your primary partition to be Active partition.
