What was the mess about that new huge Internet Explorer vulnerability? I use it and didn’t have any big problem jet, but am curious to know, how dangerous it is? Is there already a patch for that that problem and how huge that vulnerability is?

This problem culminated about the end of March and beginning of April. It was very short time that took since the security problem was found until the thing was announced and misused. Using this “hole”, malicious code was delivered via e-mail, and after activating redirected Internet Explorer to a site which was able to activate special code that made computer vulnerable and possibly remote controllable for purpose of stealing information or launching attacks to other machines. The patch was announced by Microsoft on 11.th of April as a cumulative patch along with 13 more patches for so far “unknown” Internet Explorer problems. Interesting was Microsoft’s delay, considering how urgent problem was and appearance of some third-party ( non-Microsoft) solutions in order to moderate growing problem. Official patch is available at Microsoft.com as all the others, so far released.
