Networking through House Phone or Electrical Lines?

I’ve been thinking about the possibility of using house phone or electrical lines for networking. Does anyone have some experience with this? I’ve done a Google search on this topic but didn’t get any relevant info. Any kind of feedback would be really appreciated!

I think that there is a product called “Homeplug” that deals with this stuff but I think it’s just not worth it. As far as I’ve heard networking via phone lines is really slow. But you should wait for more replies – maybe someone could tell you something from his/her own experience. I’m just writing about what I’ve heard. Anyway, I think that the best option is to go wireless – it’s really getting more and more affordable.
