I have a problem with my satellite modem and a router. I bought whole components for my new PC and I wanted to compose them together by myself. I did almost everything without problem. I plug my modem at the end because I thought that it would be the easiest part for applying. However, now I have a problem with networking my satellite modem and router. It simply would not work.
There are few options you could try to solve your problem. Some solutions are faster and others are more time-consuming. First solution you could quickly try is to reconnect your cable in another socket on the modem because sometimes manufacturer could make an error in marking sockets. If that don't work try to move your modem to another slot. You should also try to borrow somewhere the same modem as yours and try that one. If that one works then your modem is probably damage. You should also try to borrow another model of modem and try that in your machine. Some modems will simply not work with some chipsets like Lucent and nForce. If nothing of that work, you have to try some more time consuming solutions like reinstalling your Windows from the beginning.
