This is a complete mystery to me. A friend called me to help him make a network with desktop PC and iBook laptop. I have never before been connecting PC and MAC computers. In fact I have never done anything with MAC in my life. To cut the story short, we are stuck and do not know how to configure these computers. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello. Networking XP PC and MAC is not hard at all. These simple networks like the one at your friend are very simple to configure even if iBook is involved. Only thing you have to do is to install AppleTalk protocol on Windows XP computer. After this they will be able to communicate. All other things (cabling, router etc.) are the same as when connecting two PCs.
