| Hi-dee-hi! I have a laptop for some time and after awhile I am finally having a thought to connect it wirelessly via some mini PCI Wi-Fi card. The question is do I need some software CD for that installation, because I noticed many of them selling without any adds. I heard once that someone had problem connecting laptop with the Internet wirelessly, so now you know why I wonder if it is compatibility issue, OS, not a right driver. …What?! |

| Hi-dee-hi back at you! Well Laptops, most of them, along with mobile phones come with Wi-Fi (meaning “WIreless – FIdelity”, alliance between different manufacturers to make possible working together and interact using same radio frequency ) radio built in, which means suppose to be ready to operate wirelessly. What you need then to make wireless internet to function is just to insert a Wi-Fi in a one PC card and that put into expansion slot of the laptop. And yes cause of that reason many of them don’t come with drivers. The fact is that only system that is asking for a driver support is Windows 98 which could be the reason why people you heard had problems connecting the laptop wirelessly. But those drivers suppose to be available on the network so try to connect your Laptop some other way to the Internet and download one of those from the Internet, just pay attention on for which software it is meant for and things like those. There is an option that if you don’t know what kind of driver you have or adapter you are using, to download some kind wireless connection Id tool. In case that you are using Windows XP system you are not suppose to worry about these problems called Software CDs for mini PCI cards. So try to get connected, and good luck! |
