Need good Font Creator?

Hello. I am looking for good font creator program. I would like to design my own fonts and to modify existing ones. I have tried different tools (including the one that comes with Windows XP) but I was not satisfied. They just do not fit well in my description of good professional program. Can you recommend me one?

I am not involved much in this field of computing but I have heard from some professionals that "Font Creator Program" from High-Logic is excellent tool. It has a bit long learning curve but after this it shines like a very good professional program for creating and modifying fonts. I hope this has helped you a little bit.
