My DSL connection just stopped working the other day. I have no idea how or why it happened, because no changes have been made to the network settings. Local customer support at Verizon still insists it's due something I've done, and keeps telling me to try turning the Westell modem on and off, which obviously does nothing, just like the first couple of times I did it. Did anyone have similar problems w/Verizon? Any advice? Thanks in advance…

Yeah, Verizon seems to breed the same kind of personnel everywhere, largely inept and religiously sticking to their tick-lists. Still, they might be on the right track here: after certain system upgrades it sometimes becomes necessary to reset your router and give it a new MAC. They tell you to reset the Westell bridge, but it looks like they're neglecting to tell you that, if you are using some other router too, you need to reset that one as well.
