I wanted to use my new hard disk Seagate ST3320620AS in my Asus A8N motherboard, but it seems that motherboard can’t recognize it. In fact, RAID utility sees it, but it says it’s invalid. Will BIOS flash help solve this? I’m not sure if I could handle this myself (I heard it could be dangerous to the system).

The newest release of BIOS doesn’t seem to have this problem solved, so I think you shouldn’t try it at all. Another thing – SATA drives indeed don’t need to be recognized in bios at all! If you have appropriate driver for them (which is included in Windows XP SP2, or Vista), you won’t have problems using it.
