I have a problem with MusicMatch 9. It starts automatically with Windows XP and have all audio files associated with it. I want to disable it from doing so, but I can not accomplish that. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall but with no luck. If I change default programs for audio files it works until I restart computer and then it goes back to previous settings. Any help?
MusicMatch Jukebox installs secretly two programs that you have to disable in Windows registry. Uninstallation script will not remove them from your system. These two programs are mim.exe and mimboot.exe. Mimboot.exe is for starting mim.exe and it then exits automatically. Mim.exe is monitoring attached devices and music library folders for changes and makes updates to MusicMatch playlist even if it is not running. To disable them change following registry keys:” HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run” – remove MimBoot value and “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MusicMatch\MusicMatch Jukebox\4.0\MainApp” – set the value for "ShutDownMIM" to 1.
