Hey people! I had reinstall windows XP about a week ago and ever since then I have been unable to configure the sound settings in any way. There’s not a single sound coming from my speakers whatever I do! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers I got on the CD with my motherboard but it didn’t help – the yellow question mark beside the multimedia audio controller in the Device Manager just won’t go away! Does anyone here have any suggestions about my problem?

You should probably first remove the device from the device manager. Then, when you reboot, Windows should find a new device and it will ask you about installing the drivers. You should just put the CD you got with your mobo and choose the right folder where the driver you need is. If this doesn’t do the trick, maybe you should go to your mobo’s manufacturer’s site and try downloading the drivers you need and then doing the same thing as above. I hope it works out.
