| Hello. I have a motherboard with 6 PCI slots and 1 AGP. I had some serious problems with my sound card, which didnt worked well inside the first three slots. It did worked but I had serious slowdowns and sudden reboots. When I changed the slot for the sound card, I have plugged the card to the last slot, my machine started to work properly. I have two more PCI adapters that do work properly, and they are inside the PCI slots where my sound card didnt want to work. Is there some difference between these PCI slots, no matter if they look all the same or not? Thanks on further revelation. |

| Basically there is not. They are all the same. But, they dont share the same bandwidth resources. When low-budget card comes into hands and when you want to combine such hardware with, sometimes sharing resources are not equally divided and the conflict followed by restart or throttling appear. Usually the Graphic card takes the most of the resources, which was the problem in your case. |
