Most space of HDD is missing

Hello. I have decided to install Windows XP instead Windows 98SE on my computer. Prior system was heavily infected with viruses and other malicious software so I have decided to delete partitions and start over again. Installation process went smoothly but when I entered Windows XP for the first time I have noticed that it sees only 32GB hard drive (my hard drive has 80GB). Can you explain to me what has happened here?

Hello. Nothing strange has happened. You have formatted partition as FAT32 and Windows XP can format only up to 32GB partition during install process. You will have to resize your current partition or to create another one to have access to whole hard drive. You can do it from Windows or with some third party tool like Partition Magic.
