Modem problem with HP Pavilion OS upgrade

I have HP Pavilion witch came with Windows 98 preinstalled. I have decided to upgrade OS to Windows XP Professional. After upgrade I have noticed that modem is not working. I have tried several things but I was not able to install it. CD that came with HP Pavilion was not much of a help. What have I to do with this modem?

You should find XP drivers for your modem. If you do not know modem model and manufacturer then you will have to consult product manual to find some information about modem. If you do not have manual then you will have to open computer case and to read what is written on modem label. This way you will find out modem manufacturer and model and you will be able to find proper driver using this information.
