Since I have reinstalled my operative system, I have a serious problem – my modem is not connecting to the internet. I know it is not a hardware error, since it used to function just fine until I reinstalled the Windows XP.I made a connection, and now it is just not dialing it. What shall I do? Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance

Hey there. Well, if your modem used to function well before you had your system reinstalled, than it is definitely not the hardware but the software error. Are you sure you have the right drivers installed? I know that Windows XP recognizes many modems, but maybe you have to install this one yourself in order to work properly. I would recommend you to go through your installation CDs and see if you have one for modem installation, and than try to install them again. Of course, you will need to uninstall the previous driver, in order to do this. But before you do any of these, just check the option – wait for dial tone before dialing, somewhere in the properties of modem. It should be unchecked in order to work properly
