Hi people. I have Lucent V92 56K softmodem. This is my second modem because first one died from power surge. I have installed it properly in PCI slot and installed drivers for it. However, when i try to connect to my Internet service provider i receive error saying something about no dial tone. How can i solve this modem trouble?

Hello. You will have to configure your modem properly. It is set to wait for dial tone before dialing and your telephone line does not support this feature. Go to control panel and find modem options. You will see option to disable waiting for dial tone. After this your modem troubles will be solved.
