| Since Ive done some cleaning of my system (windows 2000), Im getting all kinds of weird errors. I am unable to start various applications and they all say that I am missing some files which they need. I guess that they are some system files. Is there any other way, except the reinstallation, to fix this problem? |

| You can just repair it. To do that, first backup your data (thats not needed, but its recommended in case something goes wrong Murphys Law). When passed through initial steps, you will see screen with two options. Choose repair existing windows installation. This should copy all missing files from installation cd to hard drive, but it will, also, delete all updates that you have installed after previous installation and, also, all drivers will revert to default ones found on installation cd. So, it is highly recommended to download and install all critical updates, after repairing process. |
