Hello there. My name is John and I have a strange issue with memory and video card. I have ATI X600 HyperMemory video card. In Windows XP Professional it shows 256 MB correctly, but in Windows Vista this video card appears to have 128 MB memory. This is really strange and I would be very grateful if you could explain to me why is this happening.

Hello John. Your video card has 128 MB memory on-board and it appears that driver is able to fool Windows XP to show that video card has 256 MB memory. This video card can allocate additional 128 MB from system memory to support some more demanding applications if this system RAM is available. This is where they got 256 MB memory in video card name. This applies to all video cards from ATI that support HyperMemory and all cards from nVidia that support TurboCache.
