I can't get my KV7 MoBo to recognize my SATA hard drive. When I try to install XP, I get the "no bootable drives" message. According to the manual, I should enter the BIOS and enable the "OnChip SATA Device" option in the "Integrated Peripherals" menu – great, except THERE'S NO SUCH THING IN THERE! And the picture in the manual doesn't look like what I see in the menu at all! Is there anything else I can try here before returning this piece of crap of a motherboard?!

I sympathize totally. First thing, the manual is wrong in that section – the option you need to enable is in the OnChip PCI Device menu, under "enable SATA RAID controller". But wait, the fun isn't over yet – in addition to doing this, odds are you'll have to flash your BIOS as well. Download the latest BIOS update form abit.com (v2.20 is the version I have), and flash the sucker. Then download also the latest drivers for the SATA, copy them to a floppy, and try to install XP (pressing F6 to load the drivers from the floppy). I wish you luck and patience…
