I am looking to make a wireless home network in my house. I will have four computers in four different rooms that need to be connected to this network. So, I need to place router and/or access points carefully to obtain desirable signal quality. Can you tell me what is maximum wireless range so I can calculate correctly where to place equipment?

Maximum wireless range depends on protocol you will be using. I guess that protocol will be 802.11g so its maximum range is 38 meters indoor which depends on number and material of walls (some materials are stopping wireless signal better then others). But signal quality depends from many other factors like antenna, external/internal interferences and similar things. So, you should not pay attention only to maximum range of wireless signal but to these other factors also.
