| With huge help of my friend I installed, at the last, Mandriva 2006. That was a big success for me. But, when I tried to playback some divx movies, I great disappointment awaited me: I wasnt able to watch them. First I thought that its maybe problem with CD, but when I tried several, I found out that something else is a problem. I have installed multimedia applications and I dont know what to do next. |

| Commonly due to patent and licensing problems some multimedia codecs like divx, are not installed by default. You will have to download it from the internet. Namely, you will need win32 codec, libdivx and others, depending on what formats you would like to play. Maybe the best thing to do is to check mplayer site (maybe the best multimedia player on linux) and from there you can download all needed codecs. They have, also, very good tutorial about installing. |
