Hi there people. I am about to install Mandrake 10 on my computer, with Windows XP Professional already installed on the master drive. I have one more hard disk drive. I heard that it is not good practice to keep both Win and Lin on the same drive. Is it true? And should I mess around with BIOS in order to set all properly? Thanks in advance.
Hello. It is not necessary to manage anything inside the BIOS it self. You can only set your CD/DVD device to be primary device for first boot step instead of the hard drive if not already done so. It is true for Linux and Windows on the same drive. Not good practice. Install Mandrake on the secondary drive or /dev/hdb1. Thats how your drive will be presented from the Mandrake setup.
