|
|
Hello. I'm having difficulties with the AGP slot for my 6600GT card. The problem seems to be related to the motherboard (MSI 875P) more than the card, but I never had it with the old card (in the same slot). I keep getting the message "cannot find AGP device", and when I tried that same 6600GT on a friend's machine, it installed perfectly. Is this what I fear it is? A fatal incompatibility between the MoBo and the card? Will I really need to get a new board, or stick with my old, crappy video card? Say it ain't so!

I'm not sure I understand, when does the error message appear? As soon as you attach the card? When you try installing the drivers? In any case, you should check the documentation for you mother board to see if it's incompatible with some AGP cards or slot settings. In addition to that, you could always try flashing its BIOS, regardless of whether or not you find something in the docs.
