Since two days ago, Word has begun warning me of macros in all the files I'm working with. I have no idea what caused this, since these are the exact same files that I open on a regular basis, which attracted no attention before. The message I get is the standard one, file X contains macros, macros may contain viruses, etc. I'm tired of clicking it off all the time, and would like to disable it somehow (without messing with the security settings, which are locked). Also, I'd be interested in finding out what exactly has changed that Word would start issuing these warnings all of a sudden. Thanks!

I don't know how you locked the security settings, but if they're not accessible, there's only one thing that comes to mind: someone moved the folders containing your files to another location – you might have not noticed this if Word's "open file" dialogue still starts at the same place (for instance, if My Documents was moved). Word trusts files in user and workgroup templates folders, so if the files had been stored there and are no longer, it would cause it to start issuing macro-related warnings. If this is the case, moving them back or reassigning your template folder would solve your problem.
