MS word Hangs when opening

I installed Norton AV a few days ago and since then I have a problem with my word 2000 - I cannot open it at all. It blocks my pc and I have no solution but to reboot (you cannot imagine how many times I've done that in the last few days). This morning I removed NAV but Word still won't work. All the other Office applications are ok. Is there anyone who knows what I should do? Is reinstalling office the only solution?

I think that you don't need to reinstall office. You can just try using that repair tool. And if that doesn't help the trick that most of the people use when they're having troubles with word is to delete normal.dot file. Word will create a new one at the startup. This is what really solves a lot of problems with word. I hope it will also work for you.
