MS Word 2002 opening documents very slowly

I have Office 2002 (XP) and Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I have a problem with speed that Word is opening documents. It takes more then a minute for a Word to accomplish this simple operation. Also, I have noticed that this is happening only when I am not connected on home network. Do you know what is causing this problem?

This is some kind of bug in Office 2002 whish shows itself in just an occasion as you described. It is related with recent open documents. You will solve this problem if you delete folder with recent document that Office used. This folder is located in C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Recent. When you delete it word should open files without delay.
