Hello. I have several MP3 files and I have noticed that some of them have different mbps number. I can not see any difference between these files. I would like to know what it means because I am planning to rip several CDs and convert them to mp3 so I can store songs on hard drive. Thank you in advance.

Hello. First of all it is not mbps but Kbps (kilobits per second) and it means bit rate. The bigger bit rate is the better quality of the song is. Also it affects size of the mp3 file. Compressing songs to mp3 files with bigger bit rate leads to larger files, but not significantly larger. If you are ripping Audio CD for yourself then I would suggest you to use the biggest bit rate possible because it will give you the best sound quality.
