Lost my router connections

I am experiencing frequent connection loses with my router. I can stay connected on network for a few hours without problems and then I can get disconnected several times in a few minutes. I am using wireless connection to router and I have Windows XP Professional on my laptop. Do you know what might be causing this?

Several things can make router to lose connection or computer to lose connection with the router, especially if connection is wireless. Wireless connection can have troubles if you have some interference in area like strong electromagnetic field. Also, cause of connection lose can be outdated firmware on your router so you will have to update it.
