Hi all! I have been using Windows OS-es for years, and I know almost all about them. However, I see that Linux OS gained popularity recently, particularly for its easy install. Which distro is the best for linux beginner, but experienced windows desktop user? Basically, I expect a good Office application, and a full support of all common audio video and other formats.

There are lots of distros that match your requests, Id recommend Ubuntu, or maybe even better Linux Mint, which is based on Ubuntu, but already has audio and video formats support and various codecs dont have to be installed additionaly. It also comes with OpenOffice preinstalled. Another solution some people prefer PCLinuxOS, because it resembles the original Windows system.
