I’m thinking about putting Linux on my Power Mac G5 but I don’t know anyone who’s had Linux on Apple hardware. Could anyone here tell me if this is a good idea? And if you think I should do it, which distribution of Linux is best suited for Macs? Any info would be highly appreciated!

A friend of mine had the same idea and he went trough with it about three months ago. And I haven’t heard him complaining since. He read it somewhere that Yellow Dog Linux is the best version for Mac users and that’s the version he used. He’s away on holiday right now but right after he’s back I could ask him if he could give you more info on this.
