I have installed Red Hat Linux on my computer. I thought that Ive done it successfully, but very soon, Linux contradicted me. When I tried to boot it I have got massage that kernel panic (tried to kill idle task). I am a little bit newbie, but I am suspecting on AMD chip. I am sure that it caused booting problems. If I am right or not (whatever), please, explain me what to do. Thank you very much!

Just to say you that you arent right. I have amd machine and my linux works excellent. I suppose that you need some drivers. The best solution is to do installation again, from beginning. Before you start it, try to find on the internet is there newer version of your linux distribution. Download drivers for it. From my experience I know that it would be the hardest part set drivers for modem. I can only tell you to be patient and willful. At the end it will work, dont worry.
