| I have installed Debian distro yesterday on my computer. I used just the first CD for installation (lot of people told me that would be enough). My sister has computer too, and we are connect via router. We have cable net, and, until, yesterday my network worked just fine. But, since new OS installation, I cant go to network, but my sister still can. So, I assume that problem isnt network, but something else. If you have some experience, I would appreciate your help. |

| Network is not a problem, you have right about it. You didnt install network card properly. Open the shell and try the ifconfig command. If there is no information about eth0 device, then your network card isnt recognized. Go to sisters computer and go to the internet and try to find drivers for your network card. If you dont know which model is it, try a good old way: open the case and read info from network card like vendor name and model. |
