I have bought Linksys BEFSR41 router. I was able to set it up quickly and to access internet with both computers. Internet surfing works fine, FTP protocol also works and I have no issues with sending and receiving e-mail. But, I have problem with file sharing. I have tried several networks and I can get no result. Can you help me with this problem?

You will have to configure router to allow network traffic on specific ports your file sharing programs are using. Routers act as a firewall so all ports are closed except for standard protocols (HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP…). This is called port forwarding. Enter router configuration utility and find section Applications and Gaming. Here you can open desired ports and allow clients that will use these ports.
