I just bought this Linksys router, it has about everything I need. However I have heard that it can offer even more, if you perform some special upgrade. There are some special firmwares which can boost its performance. Is this safe to do and what are the benefits I could see with using it?

People say that unless something is wrong, you should never upgrade your bios / firmware / or whatever else. I don’t think you should even consider it, unless something is not working correctly. If both Wireless and Ethernet part of your router work ok, then you don’t have a reason for doing upgrade.
