I have a LAN based off a Linksys router (see subject title for model number). It's been working OK for the most part until recently. After a recent firmware update, I am no longer able to connect outward if I set up a static IP and enter it manually. I need to have it at "obtain IP automatically", any idea why this is going on?

That's odd. Are you sure it's the firmware update that screwed things up? Maybe you should check with your ISP, I once had to wait for them to update their software some days after I did.
