I'm using a wireless router (don't know the exact model, but it's from Link SYS) to setup a local network. When I was setting up file and printer sharing authorization, I got this message: "You are connected to the internet. People on the internet can see your files and use your printer. This is not recommended." I don't see any other way of setting up sharing authorization, but I don't want to jeopardize the security on my LAN, since I have only the Windows XP firewall to cover me (not reliable, I know). What are my options here?

Here's a couple of options, then: One, set up encryption so that outsiders can't get to you without effort. Two, set up all anonymous request from the Internet to be auto-denied. Three, get a better Firewall. I guess even one of those might be enough…
