Laptop wireless card does not work

A friend of mine set me up a small home network with wireless router and two laptops. Now, I have bought a new laptop and tried to connect to this network but I was not able to do this. I can not even see my wireless network. I guess that laptop wireless card does not work. What is your opinion?

There is a possibility that laptop wireless network card is not working but you should first check some other things. First of all, enter rooter configuration and check that DHCP is running and how many addresses it gives to internal network. Second, check wireless router MAC filter list and add MAC address of third laptop to allowed addresses. If you still can not connect to network then I guess that wireless card is not working.
