Hello! I travel a lot throughout the country and in order to maintain my business I must carry my laptop with me all the time and use wireless access points for internet. Since I’m transferring very important and confidential business data, I’m a little concerned about my laptop safety, especially if someone can break into it by means of that wireless technology.

Now you’ve confused me. I know that wireless networks and routers can be hijacked and that there can be problems, but I’m not sure whether a laptop can be in danger because it’s using a wireless access point. I think that you can use measures of precaution in order to protect your laptop. If you’re so scared, you can lock the folder where you keep your confidential data and that can probably reduce the possibility of endangering your business. I’m not an expert about this but I have never heard that laptops are more frequently hijacked from any other PC. So, maybe somebody knows more about this about me, but I think that you can use your laptop without too much worrying.
