Hello there. I have serious problems with my laptop. I have small home network with two more PCs. The problem lies somewhere inside my Laptop, because it just cannot connect to other computers, while from the desktops I can browse the contents of the laptop. This is my network situation form the start of its setup, and I have finally decided to fix this. But, how? Thanks in advance.

Greetings. You didnt told us are you using internet connection sharing? Is there some kind of wireless or ordinary router attached to your network, because this seems to me as a possible firewall blocking operation. This could be the firewall installed on your laptop, or Windows Firewall on some of your desktop PCs. Also, routers do have integrated firewalls built in. You should check that. One more thing could block the outgoing local area network traffic. That is mismatch of XP versions on your network.
