I want to buy a new LCD monitor and LG monitors are cheaper than the others. Anyway, a friend of mine says that their monitors get dead pixels really often and if that happens, your warranty doesn’t cover it. Could anyone tell me more about this? I’m particularly interested in first-hand info.

He has misinformed you totally. LG has the best warranty policy when it comes to LCD monitors. They will replace it immediately with only one dead pixel per million if it’s still under warranty. The problem may be the re-seller because they usually ignore this rule. That’s why you should ask the seller about it before buying the monitor. I have had an LG LCD monitor for about 3 months and it’s working nice.
