LG DRD8160B won't recognise DVDs

My LG DRD8160B drive won't recognise DVDs any more. It's a combo drive, and it still reads and plays CD media OK, it's just that 90% of DVDs I try on it are unreadable. It's weird because I've had drives give up on me before, but I haven't had a drive that stops accepting one kind of media and keep playing nicely with the other. Anyone had that happen to him?

Sure, DVD drives can get picky like that, especially "brand names" like LG Rolling Eyes

(I can't honestly say that I was ever happy with an LG piece of computer hardware, and due to certain circumstances there've been plenty)

But back to the point: If you've tried cleaning and it hasn't helped, I guess you'll just have to replace it.
