Hi there, folks. Is it really possible for a jpeg format to contain a virus or malicious code? I mean, how? This actually means that my PC could become infected when I surf over the internet while thinking which picture to save to my desktop or anywhere else, right? Thanks in advance.

Yes, thats right. When you see a compressed .jpeg picture on your computer, and the picture came from WebShots desktop for example, know its possible that some background part of few pixels can contain something else, but presented as a image piece. Plus, if you have admin privileges while you are executing the image.... Many Antivirus programs just cannot see the difference between modified and clean images, note that too.
